I help organizations bridge the gap between
IT and Business so every digital initiative creates real, sustainable value.
My approach is human-centered and grounded in real-world experience, helping growing organizations build stronger IT foundations and align their strategy, people, and technology.
About Me
Hi, I’m Hian - an IT leader who focuses on aligning technology, people, and business goals. Over the years, I’ve seen how many organizations struggle not because they lack tools or systems, but because their IT teams and management speak different languages. My work revolves around helping both sides gain clarity, communicate better, and move in the same direction.
I specialise in IT leadership, governance, and practical digital enablement. Whether I’m supporting executives, mentoring IT teams, or teaching professionals to use tools more effectively, my goal is always the same: to make technology understandable, purposeful, and sustainable. I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel guided, not overwhelmed.
My approach is grounded in real-world experience and shaped by a human-centered mindset. I’ve spent years building IT teams from the ground up, strengthening processes, and ensuring that technology improves - not complicates - how organizations operate. Today, I help growing companies build stronger IT foundations and use digital initiatives with intention and confidence.
Mission & Philosophy
My mission is to make technology more human, more strategic, and truly aligned with the goals of the organisation. I believe that IT should not confuse people, slow them down, or create unnecessary complexity. Instead, it should create clarity, strengthen decision-making, and support the people who run the business.
In my experience, most IT challenges are not technical problems - they are people problems. Misalignment, unclear expectations, weak communication, and a lack of shared understanding often stand in the way of progress. That is why my approach is grounded in coaching, structured thinking, and conversations that help both management and IT teams see the bigger picture together.
I believe that real transformation happens when technology, culture, and leadership move in harmony. Tools and systems matter, but it is the people behind them who make change possible. My philosophy is simple: guide them well, build strong foundations, and help them use technology with intention and confidence. When this alignment happens, digital initiatives stop being “projects” - they become sustainable results.
Problems I Help Solve
Many organizations face recurring challenges that slow down their digital progress. These issues often have less to do with technology itself and more to do with alignment, clarity, and the way people work together.
Here are the challenges I typically help address:
- Misalignment between IT and the business
When IT teams speak in technical terms and management speaks in business terms, decisions become unclear and progress stalls. - Underutilised tools and low digital capability
Excel, PowerPoint, AI tools, and even basic systems often fail to deliver value simply because teams were never guided on how to use them effectively. - Weak IT governance and unclear direction
Without clear processes, ownership, and accountability, IT becomes reactive instead of strategic. - Digital initiatives that feel confusing or disconnected
Projects may start with enthusiasm but lose momentum when expectations, priorities, or roles are not aligned. - Low awareness of information security risks
People remain the biggest vulnerability; many incidents happen not because of advanced threats, but because teams were never taught how to recognize them.
What I Do
I work with organizations and professionals to make technology more understandable, strategic, and aligned with what the business truly needs. My work focuses on strengthening IT leadership, improving clarity between teams, and building practical capabilities that support sustainable progress.
Here’s how I typically help:
- CIO-as-a-Service (Fractional CIO)
Providing strategic guidance for IT direction, governance, and alignment with business priorities. - Advisory for senior management
Helping executives gain clarity in evaluating IT decisions, overseeing projects, and setting realistic expectations for their teams. - Technical training for professionals (Excel & PowerPoint)
Empowering teams to use essential tools with confidence, accuracy, and real-world practicality. - Information security awareness programs
Equipping employees with the mindset and habits needed to reduce everyday security risks. - AI enablement for business
Guiding professionals and teams to use AI tools in a responsible, structured, and effective way.
My Approach
I believe that clarity, communication, and structure are the foundations of effective IT. Many organizations don’t struggle because of a lack of technology - they struggle because people aren’t aligned on what the technology is supposed to achieve. That’s why my approach always begins with understanding people, expectations, and context before discussing tools or solutions.
I work through coaching, structured thinking, and practical frameworks that help both IT teams and management move in the same direction. Instead of overwhelming people with jargon, I focus on making concepts understandable and actionable. I guide teams to see patterns, understand risks, and make decisions that are grounded in reality.
My goal is to build capability, not dependency. Every engagement is designed to strengthen the organization’s internal confidence: clearer roles, better communication, more effective tools, and a healthier relationship between IT and the business. When people understand the “why” behind technology, sustainable results become possible.
My Background
I’ve spent my career leading IT in complex, multi-site environments, where clarity, alignment, and strong governance make all the difference. Most of my work has been in manufacturing - especially in garment production - where I learned how to build IT foundations that support fast-moving operations, large workforces, and demanding business requirements.
Over the years, I’ve guided IT teams from fresh graduates to mature, high-performing units. I have worked closely with executives and department heads, helping them understand the strengths and limitations of their systems, make better technology decisions, and bring structure to their digital initiatives.
I’m certified as an ITIL 4 Managing Professional, and I regularly train professionals in Excel, PowerPoint, information security awareness, and practical AI usage. My technical background is balanced with a strong focus on communication, coaching, and people development - because in my experience, technology only works when the people behind it feel supported and understood.
