Notes that outlived their platforms

18 working notes on CA-Clipper, Delphi, and MDaemon, written between 2003 and 2008. They are kept online for a simple reason: nobody writes new documentation for these tools, so for a few of these problems there is still no other answer on the internet.

Unchanged apart from formatting. Where the archive lost something, the page says so rather than filling the gap with a guess.

Clipper

Clipper (CA-Clipper / xBase)

Notes from years of building DOS business applications in CA-Clipper — compiler errors, linker limits, file locking, and patterns that kept large codebases maintainable. Nobody writes new Clipper documentation, so these pages stay online for whoever still maintains this code.

Delphi

Delphi (Object Pascal)

Practical Delphi recipes from the same era — shelling out to Windows, reading the registry, wizard components, and taskbar behaviour.

MDaemon

MDaemon mail server

Administration notes for MDaemon — moving an installation between paths and servers, and getting SMTP size limits to actually apply.
